The Assistant Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Legal) of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD), Ms Fiona LAI Ho-yan, delivered a speech at a seminar on “Low-Altitude Economy — Opportunities and Outlook for Smart Property Management” jointly organised by the City University of Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area Low Altitude Economy Alliance and the Smart City Consortium on 13 March.

At the seminar, Ms LAI introduced the “Guidance on the Use of Video Cameras on Drones and Vehicles” and the “Guidance on the Use of CCTV Surveillance” issued by the PCPD.  She also shared practical recommendations and best practices set out in the guidances on using drones for surveillance, to assist organisations in complying with the relevant requirements under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance while making effective use of these technologies.
