Reaching Out to the Property Management Sector – PCPD’s Representative Speaks at the Webinar on “iAM Smart” Sandbox Programme

Legal Counsel of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD), Ms Stephanie CHAU, spoke at the webinar on “iAM Smart” Sandbox Programme organised by the Digital Policy Office for the property management sector on 22 October 2024.

During the webinar, Ms CHAU provided the participants with an overview of the six data protection principles under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and elaborated on matters which the property management sector should pay heed to when collecting the Hong Kong Identity Card numbers and copies from residents and visitors, with reference to the latest “Code of Practice on the Identity Card Number and other Personal Identifiers: Compliance Guide for Data Users” and the “Protection of Personal Data Privacy – Guidance for Property Management Sector” published by the PCPD.
