From Policy to Practice: Experience Sharing Session on Data Governance
by Privacy-Friendly Awardees 2025

In today’s fast-evolving digital landscape, data has become a vital asset for driving business operations and innovation. Many organisations face the challenge of managing and leveraging vast volume of data effectively, while ensuring that personal data privacy is safeguarded. Robust data governance not only supports regulatory compliance by the organisations, but also plays a critical role in fostering stakeholder trust, enhancing corporate reputation and advancing sustainable development.
To promote strong data governance and foster a privacy-centric culture within enterprises, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) will organise experience sharing sessions featuring Outstanding Gold Awardees of the “Privacy-Friendly Awards 2025”. The first session will spotlight awardees from government departments, public body and the public utilities sector. Speakers will share their hands-on experiences and practical insights in implementing data governance policies to responsibly manage vast amount of personal data of members of the public. Through real-life examples, they will also demonstrate how privacy protection is embedded into their daily operations, with measures introduced to strengthen data security in response to emerging privacy challenges.
Data protection officers, data security practitioners, compliance officers, legal professionals and organisations who are interested in enhancing data governance and data security are welcome to attend.
