Webinar on “Data Security and Risk Management in Schools”
With the arrival of the digital era, schools are increasingly deploying information technology in their teaching and administrative work. While these advancements offer significant benefits, they also present new challenges, particularly in the area of personal data protection. Without adequate and effective security measures, personal data relating to students, parents and staff may be exposed to cyber threats, resulting in data breach incidents.
To assist schools in enhancing their data protection capabilities, Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, will share the lessons learnt from data breach cases relating to schools during this webinar, and elaborate on the causes of the data breaches and the remedial measures taken. She will also provide practical recommendations for strengthening data security measures, as well as highlight the key points in preventing and handling data breach incidents. In addition, guest speakers from the Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE) will share best practices for handling personal data at schools.
Principals and teachers from primary and secondary schools are welcome to attend. The event is supported by the Education Bureau (EDB). Attendees will receive 1.5 CPD hours from the EDB.
