Serving the Community – Storytelling Activity of Privacy Commissioner’s Office Volunteer Team
The Volunteer Team of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) organised a storytelling activity for approximately 70 primary school students at the Methodist Centre on 21 August, and shared the contents of a Chinese storybook titled “Adventure in the AI Labyrinth” (《AI迷城歷險記》) (Storybook) published by the PCPD, with a view to helping primary school students use artificial intelligence (AI) and social media responsibly and say no to “doxxing”.
The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Privacy Commissioner), Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, said, "I am very grateful to the Methodist Centre for its support of this activity. Primary school students are the future leaders of our society. I hope that, through the storytelling activity during the summer holiday, the PCPD's Volunteer Team can help students develop a strong awareness of the importance of protecting personal data privacy in the AI and digital era, thereby laying a solid foundation for them to navigate the digital world safely from an early age.”
Established in 2022, the PCPD Volunteer Team has made multiple visits to elderly centres to raise awareness of scam prevention among elderly. The Team has also helped prepare meal boxes for people in need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Team donated anti-epidemic supplies to various social welfare organisations.
