Promoting AI Security — Privacy Commissioner Speaks at SocTech Symposium 2025
The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Privacy Commissioner), Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, delivered a keynote speech titled “A New Milestone for Privacy Protection in the Era of Gen AI” at the SocTech Symposium 2025 organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service on 20 October 2025.
In her speech, the Privacy Commissioner outlined the use of AI in non-profit organisations and illustrated the risks posed to personal data privacy in the use of AI with real-life examples. She also introduced the “Checklist on Guidelines for the Use of Generative AI by Employees” and the “Artificial Intelligence: Model Personal Data Protection Framework” published by her Office.
