PCPD 30th Anniversary – Hong Kong International Data Privacy Academy and the University of Hong Kong Jointly Organise a Seminar

To mark the 30th anniversary of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD), the PCPD launches a series of seminars on data security and artificial intelligence (AI) privacy protection. A seminar entitled “The New AI Era: Data Protection and Cybersecurity in Higher Education”, co-organised by the Hong Kong International Data Privacy Academy, recently established by the PCPD, and the Information Technology Services – Data Protection Office of the University of Hong Kong, was successfully held on 30 June, attracting over 150 participants from the higher education sector.

At the seminar, Assistant Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Compliance, Global Affairs and Research), Mr Alex CHAN Chung-man, discussed the privacy risks arising from the use of AI, and highlighted recommendations for developing of organisational AI guidelines and considerations for AI governance.
