Telling a Good Hong Kong Story – Privacy Commissioner’s Office Welcomes a Delegation of Mainland Officials
The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) received a delegation of Mainland officials on 6 June. The delegation comprised 21 Mainland officials who took the Master of Laws programme in Common Law at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong under the Training Scheme in Common Law for Mainland Legal Officials organised by the Department of Justice.
PCPD’s representatives Ms Ines LEE, Senior Legal Counsel, Ms Hermina NG, Senior Legal Counsel (Complaints) and Ms Phoebe CHOW, Head of Corporate Communications, delivered a presentation to the delegates on “Protection of Personal Data in Hong Kong – Briefing on the Work of the PCPD”. The presentation covered Hong Kong’s personal data protection laws and an overview of the PCPD’s role and functions, as well as how the PCPD handles complaints, combats doxxing and promotes the protection of personal data privacy.
