Announcement of the appointment of new members of the Personal Data (Privacy) Advisory Committee

The Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau today (29 September) announces the new membership of the Personal Data (Privacy) Advisory Committee (Committee) (https://www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/202309/29/P2023092900388.htm).  The new members were appointed for a term of two years from 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2025.
 
The Committee, established under section 11 of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, serves to advise the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data on matters in relation to protection of personal data privacy.
 
The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, is the Chairperson of the Committee.  She said, “Members of the Committee come from different sectors and professional fields.  I am truly indebted to Ms Terese AU-YEUNG Kar-wai, Mr Alex CHIU Chih-sun, Mr Addy WONG Wai-hung, MH, JP and Ms Eirene YEUNG, who will be retiring from the Committee, for their valuable advice and views given to us over the past years relating to the work of the PCPD.  I also welcome the new Committee members, Dr CHOW Kam-pui, Mr LAW Fai, Ms Nikki NG Mien-hua and Mr Patrick WONG Chi-kwong. I look forward to working closely with all members of the Committee to promote the protection of personal data privacy.”
