PCPD Anti-Epidemic Volunteer Team Donates Medical Supplies to
Social Welfare Organisations

The Anti-Epidemic Volunteer Team (Volunteer Team) of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) has donated anti-epidemic medical supplies to social welfare organisations, namely, St. James’ Settlement, Hong Chi Association and Chung Sing Benevolent Society today (28 March). The medical supplies include approximately 800 sets of rapid test kits, 300 disinfectant hand sanitizers, 700 N95 protective face masks and 200 pieces of protective gowns.

The Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Ms Ada CHUNG Lai-ling, said, “With the city battling a fifth wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the elderly and children are among the more vulnerable groups who are in need of help. The PCPD is dedicated to the fight against the pandemic. We wish to show our care for the elderly and children through our donations to social welfare organisations. I believe that if we stand united, we will ride out the storm.”

The PCPD set up the Volunteer Team to contribute to the fight against the pandemic on 24 February 2022. The Volunteer Team was formed to provide assistance or resources to those in need. Apart from providing support to affected staff members, the Volunteer Team also organises volunteer activities, including appealing for donations to help those in need in the society.
