Mission Statement

To secure the protection of privacy of the individual with respect to personal data through promotion, monitoring and supervision of compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance in a cost effective and efficient manner.

The new logo of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (the "PDCD"), composed with the letters "P" and "D" represents the first letters of our main focus - "personal" and "data", as in the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Between the two letters is an outline of a human figure, symbolizing members of the public communicating with the office for assistance in protecting their personal data privacy rights. Our new corporate logo highlights the importance of harmony in our society - which is in line with our mission in promoting a notion of mutual respect in the community.
