Seminars,
Conferences, Exhibitions and Speaking Engagements
- In
2004-2005, the PCPD conducted 14 introductory seminars on important aspects
of the Ordinance. These seminars were conducted at regular intervals
and offered free-of-charge to the public.
- 62
in-house training seminars were also offered to private and public sector
organizations to encourage compliance with the provisions of the Ordinance.
Throughout the year, the Privacy Commissioner and staff of the PCPD spoke
at a number of local, regional and international conferences on issues
related to personal data privacy.

- The
PCPD's communications strategies was extended during the year to
include SMEs and job seekers. To raise the profile of privacy
among these target groups the PCPD participated in the "World
SME Expo" in November 2004 and the "Education &
Careers Expo 2005" in February 2005.
