[logo] [logo] Seminar on "Protecting Personal Data in the Electronic Media" To help IT professionals and data controlling officers handle database that contain large amount of personal data, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data organized an open seminar together with three major IT professional bodies on 26 March 2007. Overwhelming response was received from over 340 participants of different sectors, namely government departments, telecommunications, financial institutions, educational institutions and public sector organizations. Mr. Dale Johnstone, Chief Information Security Officer of PCCW Ltd., spoke on industry best practices for protecting personal identifiable information.
