Promoting Cross-Boundary Flow of Personal Information – Assistant Privacy Commissioner Speaks at the “13th Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao Legal Seminar”

The Assistant Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (Compliance, Global Affairs and Research), Ms Joanne WONG, attended the “13th Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao Legal Seminar” organised by the Department of Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the China Law Society and the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region on 21 July. The theme of the seminar was “Anchoring the new strategic positioning and facilitating the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) with high-quality rule of law”.
 
At the seminar, Ms WONG participated in the panel discussion on “Data element market governance and competition order protection in the GBA” and explored the importance of safe cross-boundary flow of personal data in contributing to the continuous growth of a thriving digital economy in the GBA. Ms WONG also introduced the essential parts of the “Standard Contract for Cross-boundary Flow of Personal Information Within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Mainland, Hong Kong)”.
