Promoting Awareness

A representative of the PCPD delivered a talk on the Ordinance at the "World SME Expo".

Seminars, Conferences, Exhibitions and Speaking Engagements

In 2004-2005, the PCPD conducted 14 introductory seminars on important aspects of the Ordinance. These seminars were conducted at regular intervals and offered free-of-charge to the public.
62 in-house training seminars were also offered to private and public sector organizations to encourage compliance with the provisions of the Ordinance. Throughout the year, the Privacy Commissioner and staff of the PCPD spoke at a number of local, regional and international conferences on issues related to personal data privacy.

The PCPD participated in the "Education & Careers Expo 2005"

The PCPD's communications strategies was extended during the year to include SMEs and job seekers. To raise the profile of privacy among these target groups the PCPD participated in the "World SME Expo" in November 2004 and the "Education & Careers Expo 2005" in February 2005.

Seminar for Lawyers and Attesting Officers in Qinghai, China. The 26th International Conference on Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners in Wroclaw, Poland. The APEC Data Privacy Subgroup Meeting and Electronic Commerce Steering Group in Santiago, Chile. 「私隱的權利一個人的尊嚴」研討會， Macau Consumer Council.
